We asked Nick Williams from The United States to reflect upon his experience here in Rosario, Argentina.
We know that putting experiences into words is difficult, but if you had to sum up your time here, how would you explain it?
Phenomenal connections made with phenomenal people.
Wow Nick! That is great to hear. What made it so phenomenal?
My experience exceeded every one of my expectations. I learned more Spanish, more culture and made more friends than I ever would have thought possible.
How long did you stay?
I stayed for 5 months.
Did you extend or cut your trip short?
No no, I had planned on that amount of time.
What was your favorite part about your time here? And would you have changed anything about it?
My favorite part, by far, was hosting asados in my apartment. I have wonderful memories of entertaining all the friends I made there. I initially lived with a host family, which was great, but if I could go back in time and change one thing, I would have moved to my own apartment a month earlier. Other than that, I don’t think I would have changed anything!
Do you have any advice for future students and travelers?
Put energy into your connections. Make an effort to reach out to people in the city. Make an effort to get involved with both other students and local Rosarinos. Don’t just try to talk to people in bars. Find people in events, clubs, street corners… everywhere! Rosario is a fantastic city, and Spanish in Rosario was a perfect lens to learn about the city!
